Macintosh Macbook Pro: Exclusive Product ReView
I just started a new job 2 months ago. When hired I was given the opportunity to pick any laptop on the company’s dollar. This was like putting a kid in a candy store. I didn’t know what to go for, I love technology and can never get enough. Apple has always interested me in several ways. After some research I chose a Macbook Pro. I have never owned an Apple product until now and can say I am very happy with my choice of this 15.4 inch Macbook Pro.
Apple has always appealed to me in several ways: their hardware has a sex appeal to it, they always have good innovations, and their operating systems have always been more efficient than their windows counter part. Knowing that I can run windows on my Mac, I felt that I couldn’t go wrong with this purchase. Even if I decided OSX wasnt for me, I could still run windows on it and not feel as if I lost.
Seeing the box this laptop comes in makes you feel like you bought jewelry or something. It is black, shiny, and just looks luxurious. When opening you will find that everything is neatly packed inside and layed out simply so anyone could put everything back in its place easily. Even the packaging for this laptop is nice and well thought out.
When you power it on for the first time, you are greeted with a welcome and are asked a few questions. The questions help setup the laptop to fit you and also give you an opportunity to register. OSX is very user friendly and looks really good. Everything is easy on the eyes and layed out in such a way that it just feels natural.
While you are waiting for the initial setup to complete, you look over the laptop itself and notice all of the nice styling. The keyboard and mousepad are color matched to the casing of the computer. The glossy display is very crisp and clear. When the lighting around you changes, the monitor automatically adjusts to make for better viewing. Also, when the lighting gets darker the keyboard begins to glow so that you can easily see all of the keys even in the dark. The keys also are shaped uniquely, your fingertips are kind of hugged as the keys are indented in the center. The casing of the laptop is very simple and clean looking. It is also thin and light, which is really nice especially if you are going to be carrying this thing around.
The laptop is powerful. Things load fast and it performs well. I have never felt as if the computer is slow. OSX is coded well and the combination of that and the powerful components that are included makes it quite enjoyable to use.
Apple has came a long way in the availability of applications for its operating system and the programs that are provided run very well and look good. Still there are many things that are not available on Mac yet but I think in the near future you will see it become pretty equal to windows. With that said I still use my pc’s and like them as well.
For me the journey into the land of Apple has been pleasant and I would suggest a Mac to a person who isn’t a gamer. Other than game availability the mac can basically do all the pc can. Parallels Desktop allows you to run windows as a virtual machine and use all of your windows based programs. The way parallels integrates the pc platform into OSX is amazing and it works very well. Soon games are supposed to run very well using parallels, so maybe even gamers can hit up Apple. For more information see Apple.com
